Serve with Us in Our Congregation
Whatever your gifts and interests, they can be used to the glory of God with our congregation!
- Become a scripture reader for Sunday Worship.
- Teach a Bible study.
- Become part of a counting team.
- Help organize summer and after-school faith formation activities.
- Host fellowship after Sunday worship.
- Assist with mowing or setting up for events.
- Become a visitor to members in hospital, nursing home, or shut-in.
- Lead the card ministry.
- Help transport Camp Carew attendees as needed.
- Play handbells, sing a solo, play the organ or piano. Bring your guitar.
Serve with Us in Our Community and the World
Join our food ministry of weekend snack bags during the school year for elementary children in need. We have served as many as 95 per week, and appreciate that some other congregations in the county donate toward the purchase of food. All ages work together to pack bags after worship.
Help with the summer nutrition enhancement activities – whether distribution of snack boxes for households or “Hot Dog Tuesdays” at public housing in two communities and outside the church.
Join with children and youth in collecting moneys for the Marion Medical Mission well program.
Help keep the Blessing Box located near the church on the Main Street of Golconda well stocked.
Become part of the community Ministerial Alliance programs, helping to support its fund to provide emergency help. Join in the community-wide Thanksgiving Worship which rotates among local churches, and be part of the Easter Sunrise service at the Golconda Park. Observe the National Day of Prayer on the Courthouse lawn.
Late each April, come and help ring the church bell for each River to River Relay runner who passes the church, as we have been doing since 1991.
Help community children in activities when the Tree Lighting takes place on the Courthouse lawn in December. Join in community choir opportunities.
Join with us in supporting PCUSA Denominational Offerings to address needs here and around the world.
